WoW Minipets: Part 3

So far we've seen vendored pets that take relatively little effort to obtain from their respective factions. Now we'll look at pets that either faction can purchase. These pets all take a little more effort to achieve, whether due to travel or their in game cost. Many of these pets require travel to Outland or Northrend and are therefore extremely difficult to obtain on low level characters. Our next post will show the pets that require certain reputations with specific factions to purchase, but all of these pets just require finding the vendor.

So here are the "second tier" vendor pets of Azeroth.

Thousand Needles

In the shimmering flats of Thousand Needles, Magus Tirth sells this little grey chicken. If you've done any questing in this area you'll notice that when he gets a little angry at his apprentice he turns his apprentice into a chicken too!! If you don't feel up to a trek to Thousand Needles, this pet is often available on the AH for quite the reasonable sum.

Ancona Chicken

Booty Bay

Now who better to buy a few pets from then a Pirate Supplies Vendor? Narkk in Booty Bay sells both of these cute little flying companions. These are not the only parrots in the game but they are two of the most easy to acquire.

Parrot Cage (Cockatiel)
Parrot Cage (Senegal)

Netherstorm

At the Stormspire in Netherstorm, Dealer Rashaad and the other members of the Consortium sell hard to acquire items as well as items that can't be found anywhere else. However, remember that whenever you're dealing with the Consortium you'll be paying a premium for the privilege. Caveat emptor!

Blue Dragonhawk Hatchling
Brown Rabbit Crate
Cat Carrier (Siamese) - this also has a chance to drop from a mob in The Stockades, but I'll touch on that later
Mana Wyrmling
Red Moth Egg

Dealer Rashadd also sells these items that can be obtained from other vendors that we've mentioned in previous posts.

Cockroach
Crimson Snake
Parrot Cage (Senegal)

The Darkmoon Faire

Every month the Darkmoon Faire travels through Azeroth selling rare goods. While the faire is well known for the Darkmoon Cards, a young vendor also has a few things to offer. Flik runs around much like Yarlyn does, and can sometimes be hard to catch. And if he only has one pet to offer make sure to return often while the Faire is in town, and you'll eventually be rewarded with two new frogs for your collection.

Tree Frog Box
Wood Frog Box - Flik only has one on him at any time, but there is a fairly short respawn timer. A little persistence goes a long way with this vendor.

Dalaran

Deep in the sewers of Dalaran, in the black market, Darahir sells a single ghostly pet. This pet is bind on pickup, and at 40g is one of the more expensive vendor pets. But this creepy little guy is more then worth it!

Ghostly Skull

Well, if you've been following my guide this puts you at 39 pets. Thats one more achievement down, and only two left to go. You're getting closer and closer to your first pet reward every day!
